"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another´s feet"-John 13:14
The GlobeServe Missionary Church, a Ministry of GlobeServe Ministries International was founded by the Reverend Samuel Anthony Kofi Dunya and the wife, Jonhild, both Missionaries and products of the Bethany College of Missions, Minnesota USA, on June 9, 1996 at Mafi-Adidome, in the Volta Region of Ghana.
Rev. Samuel A.K Dunya and wife, Jonhild first met on the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) ship Anastasis where they both worked. It was through this shared experience with YWAM plus a God-given desire for missions that they were led into full time ministry. While schooling at Bethany, Samuel and Jonhild became members of Wooddale Church. They were commissioned and sent to Ghana in 1995 and actively started their work in June 1996 after their study at Bethany College of Missions in Bloomington Minnesota. Rev. Samuel and Mrs. Jonhild Dunya founded GlobeServe and work as Bethany Fellowship Missionaries in Ghana and West Africa. They were both commissioned and sent as Missionaries to the Ewe people group of Ghana, Benin, and Togo West Africa by Bethany International Ministries.
THE CALLING OF REV. SAMUEL ANTHONY KOFI DUNYA (SNR.), FOUNDER
Rev. Samuel Anthony Kofi Dunya was born at Kade in the Eastern Region to a renown and God fearing parents (Mr. Emmanuel Awuku and Mrs. Mary Dunya) who were very instrumental in the mid-1930s working with the founding leaders of The Church of Pentecost from Asamankese, Akroso, Winneba to Kade and beyond.
Rev. Dunya coming from such a strong Christian home became dynamic in the Sunday School until he became the leader of the Children Ministry in The Church of Pentecost at Akim-Manso in the Eastern Region. He went through all the leadership trainings and actively worked with the Witness Movement of the Church in planting a number of daughter Churches.
In 1989, he responded to the invitation to be trained by Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Discipleship Training School in Odumase-Krobo. After the Discipleship Training, he left as a Missionary with YWAM serving on board YWAM Ship Anastasis where he met his wife, Jonhild and were both married in the Faroe Islands (Denmark) in December 1993.
With a strong passion of following the Apostle Paul's ministry of planting Churches and making dynamic disciples for Jesus Christ, he enrolled in the Bethany College of Missions, Minnesota, USA and upon completion was commissioned alongside his wife in 1995 to come to Ghana by Rev. Timothy H. Freeman who was the Mission Director of Bethany Fellowship Missions and has served in Philippines for well over fourteen (14) years and presently works as the Operations Officer for Bethany Missionary Church, USA, an Independent Church registered under the Laws of the United States of America. Rev. Freeman is married with four (4) children of who two (2) are already married.
From June 1996, Rev. Dunya and his wife founded GlobeServe Ghana with the sole aim of honouring God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ. Their ministry includes planting Churches, Pastors Training, Missionary Sending, Women Empowerment, Free Medical Outreaches through the Bridge of Hope and the provision of fresh water wells commonly referred to as boreholes.
The Lord has blessed Rev. Samuel and Mrs. Jonhild Dunya with four children - Mary, Suzanne, Samuel Jnr. and Joshua and made Ghana their home. The Dunyas seek to delight God's heart, partner with Him in His Kingdom by making more disciples for Jesus Christ. With strong passionate 20 Pastoral staff, and 20 teaching and administrative staff, GlobeServe is poised to see God honoured and Christ lifted up and His name praised among the nations.
GlobeServe and her churches and other ministries strictly live by the Bible. Bible teaching permeates every programme because we do want to know and understand God's Word and thereby living lives consistent with the teachings of the Bible.
GlobeServe looks beyond her walls to live out worship of God through service for God throughout church planting activities, medical outreaches in the rural of Ghana, to the provision of safe drinking water, the training of Pastors and empowerment programmes in our Vocational and Preparatory Schools.
Jesus' Commission to us is to make disciples; this, therefore, becomes the central core of our being and we do commit our time, talents, and treasures to ensure that dynamic disciples who are more like Christ are raised for Jesus Christ.
A disciple commits to obey Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, growing in knowledge of God, service for God and sharing of God.
Based upon this purpose, we do covenant together by God's grace, to live our lives consistent with the standards of Biblical teaching including the support of this ministry in prayer, service and giving, by living lives in word, thought and deed that are an encouragement to others to know and be like Jesus Christ, and by reflecting in all our relationships the servant-love of our Lord.
GlobeServe exists to delight God's heart and partner with Him in His kingdom by making more disciples for Jesus Christ
Discipleship is at the core of all that GlobeServe is involved in.
To produce disciples whose lives have been transformed individually and cooperatively, and who are now living out lives through worship of God and service for God.
Servanthood without Limit!
This motto naturally flows out of John 13: 14- "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet" We are the hands and feet of Jesus. We serve others without limit as Christ served us
