What Four Generations of Disciples Reveal About a Movement
After a fruitful visit to the North East on the Sunday, GlobeServe’s President, Rev. Samuel A.K. Dunya, had the privilege of meeting some of his second, third, and fourth-generation disciples in Yendi, in Ghana’s Northern Region. For anyone who cares about how the Gospel spreads, this is one of the most encouraging pictures there is. It is the living proof that a disciple making movement is real and self-sustaining, not just a season of good results.
What Do Spiritual Generations Mean?
A spiritual generation is simply one link in a chain of discipleship. The President discipled someone, that is the first generation. That person went on to disciple another, the second generation. The second discipled a third, and the third discipled a fourth. By the time you reach a fourth-generation disciple in Yendi, the Gospel has passed through at least four sets of hands, and most of the people in that chain the President has never personally met.
