How GlobeServe Centre for African Missions is Transforming Missionary Training in West Africa

Where Vision Meets Training, and Missionaries Are Born

In the heart of Tamale, Northern Ghana, sits an unassuming campus with an extraordinary mission. The GlobeServe Centre for African Missions (GCAM) is more than a Bible school, it is a missionary training hub raising Kingdom workers who will reach the unreached, plant churches among resistant peoples, and disciple nations across West Africa and beyond.

In 2025, GCAM trained two cohorts of students, sending forth 14 graduates equipped with theological education, practical ministry skills, and income-generating abilities. These graduates are not just certificate holders; they are catalytic leaders prepared to multiply disciples, plant churches, and transform communities.

The Visionary Leader: Rev. Samuel A.K. Dunya Jnr.

Behind GCAM’s impact is a clear and compelling vision led by Rev. Samuel Anthony Kwabena Dunya Jnr., Director of GCAM and International Missions Director for GlobeServe Ministries International.

His mandate is simple yet powerful:
Equip catalytic leaders who will multiply disciples and plant churches among unreached people groups.

Under his leadership, GCAM continues to train and deploy missionaries who serve in difficult terrains and among communities with little or no access to the Gospel.

Comprehensive Curriculum: Training for Real Mission Fields

GCAM’s curriculum is designed to produce missionaries who are spiritually grounded, theologically sound, culturally aware, and practically effective. Each course blends classroom instruction with field-based application.

Biblical & Theological Foundations

Courses such as Biblical Missiology, Systematic Theology, Comparative Theology, and Bible Study Methods provide students with a strong understanding of Scripture and the mission of God. These courses ensure that every missionary is rooted in sound doctrine and capable of teaching others effectively.

Evangelism & Church Planting

Through Evangelism Methods, Muslim Evangelism, Church Planting, and Homiletics (Preaching), students are equipped with practical tools for sharing the Gospel, discipling new believers, and establishing churches in both urban and remote communities. Special focus is given to reaching Muslim communities and resistant people groups across West Africa.

Cultural & Community Engagement

Courses such as African Traditional Religion, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Community Development prepare missionaries to engage respectfully and effectively within diverse cultural contexts. Students learn how to minister holistically addressing spiritual, social, and economic needs while presenting the Gospel.

Leadership & Pastoral Care

Through Christian Leadership, Church Administration, Discipleship & Spiritual Formation, and Biblical Counseling, trainees develop strong leadership character and pastoral skills. They are prepared to lead congregations, mentor believers, and provide guidance to individuals and families facing life challenges.

This comprehensive training ensures that GCAM graduates are not only knowledgeable but spiritually mature and mission-ready.

Income-Generating Skills for Sustainable Missions

Understanding the realities of mission work, GCAM also equips students with practical income-generating skills to support themselves on the field. These include:

  • Liquid soap production

  • Sanitizer (Dettol) production

  • Yogurt production

These skills enable missionaries to practice bi-vocational ministry, sustain themselves financially, and integrate into communities through entrepreneurship.

Faculty Excellence: Experienced and Diverse

GCAM’s training is delivered by 12 seasoned lecturers, combining academic knowledge with field experience:

  • 6 Accra-based lecturers bringing national and international perspective

  • 6 Tamale-based lecturers offering deep understanding of northern and cross-cultural mission contexts

This blend ensures that students receive both theoretical grounding and practical field insight.

How You Can Support the Mission

GCAM continues to expand its reach and impact, and partners are essential to sustaining this vision. You can support by:

  • Sponsoring a student missionary

  • Supporting infrastructure development (library, facilities, security)

  • Contributing to faculty support and training resources

  • Funding skills training equipment and startup kits

  • Giving toward general operations and missionary deployment

Your partnership helps raise and release more laborers into the harvest fields of Africa.

Conclusion: Raising Harvesters for the Nations

The GlobeServe Centre for African Missions stands as a beacon of hope and a training ground for Kingdom expansion. From Tamale to the nations, GCAM is raising a new generation of missionaries who are spiritually grounded, practically equipped, and passionately committed to seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.

As the harvest continues to grow across Africa, GCAM remains steadfast in its mission:
to equip, send, and support harvesters for the nations.
