Visit to Chereponi - Jayuni: A Testament to God’s Love and Mission

On January 25th, 2025, Rev. Samuel A.K. Dunya, the founder and president of GlobeServe Ministries, visited the Chokossi community of Jayuni in Chereponi. The purpose of the visit was to support missionary work and strengthen relationships with the chiefs, elders, and community members.

A Day of Encouragement and Commitment

The ceremony opened with introductions of dignitaries, followed by a heartfelt speech from Rev. Dunya. He expressed profound gratitude to the chiefs and elders for welcoming Missionary Emmanuel Likpalmor and the church into their community.

Rev. Dunya shared a powerful message about God’s unconditional love, emphasizing that this love transcends social status, tribe, or race. He reminded everyone that God’s love is so immense that He sacrificed His only son, Jesus Christ, for the salvation of humanity, urging the community to embrace this gift of salvation.

Empowering Missionary Work

During the visit, Rev. Dunya presented 15 bicycles to Emmanuel’s disciples working among the Chokossi communities. These bicycles will enable them to reach more people as they plant churches and spread the Gospel.

In his appeal to the chiefs, Rev. Dunya requested land to build churches. The chiefs, elders, and disciples collectively committed to planting 100 churches by the end of 2025, a monumental goal that reflects their dedication to advancing God’s Kingdom.

Addressing Community Needs

After the formal ceremony, Rev. Dunya led a procession to the palace of the main chief of Jayuni. The chief expressed his gratitude for the support GlobeServe had shown to the Chokossi people, including the provision of a borehole for drinking water and the construction of a church.

However, he raised concerns about two pressing issues:

  1. The borehole had developed a fault due to heavy usage before its official dedication.
  2. The church building had suffered partial damage from a strong wind.

Rev. Dunya apologized for these challenges and immediately initiated plans to address them. We are pleased to report that the borehole has been repaired, restoring clean and reliable water to the community of approximately 1,500 residents. Plans are also underway to fix the damaged church building to ensure a safe place of worship.

A Woman’s Plea

Adding to the concerns, a woman representing her husband spoke about ongoing water challenges in the community. Rev. Dunya assured her that GlobeServe would look into sustainable solutions to support their needs.

A Warm Conclusion

The visit ended with the presentation of cash gifts in the form of cola to the chiefs, elders, and dignitaries. Before departing, Rev. Dunya prayed for the chief, his elders, and the entire community, leaving behind a renewed sense of hope and unity.

Moving Forward

This visit to Jayuni exemplifies GlobeServe’s commitment to spreading the Gospel while meeting the practical needs of communities. The repaired borehole stands as a symbol of God’s provision, and the promise of 100 churches reflects the growing impact of the mission.

Let us continue to pray for the Chokossi people and the incredible work being done in their communities.
